Woman-owned events company adds team member for new market connections
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Hutton Group – Inspired Meetings & Events, a woman-owned and operated boutique company specializing in meeting planning, site selection and destination management, announced the addition of Mary Hughes as Director of Client Engagement. She is tasked with building relationships and securing clientele in the corporate sector needing assistance with meetings, conference and incentive planning.
“As a seasoned professional residing in St. Paul, Minnesota, Mary’s background in corporate meeting planning spans an array of industries and I am excited to welcome her to the team,” said Jill Garcia, president/owner and chief inspiration officer. “Her strategic thinking and expansive industry knowledge will position The Hutton Group as the go-to meetings and events organization across new Midwest and national markets.

Mary was previously employed by Medtronic as a senior strategic meeting planner for more than eight years, helping bring to market best-in-class medical education. She also served several years with St. Jude Medical (now Abbott Laboratories) as the program event manager and oversaw national meetings and conventions. Most recently, Mary’s expertise allowed her to embark on self-employment as a successful events consultant, serving clients including a Fortune 500 consumer electronic retailer, a worldwide employee engagement and incentive provider and various event gifting boutique companies. She graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, California, with a degree in liberal arts.
